简介 :
俗名錢鰻、薯鰻、虎鰻。棲息於礁區、近海沿岸，深度0-30公尺，無毒性，可食用，無觀賞價值，是經濟性魚類，分布於西太平洋，產於臺灣西部、南部、北部、東北部、澎湖、小琉球，最大體長91.5 cm，模式種產於日本長崎。
形態特徵 :
體延長而呈圓柱狀，尾部側扁。上、下5顆左右。脊椎骨數139-141。魚體底色為黃或褐色，周身環繞許多如樹枝狀
棲所生態 :
主要棲息於亞潮帶珊瑚岩礁海域；一般多靜止在海底而不喜游動，游泳時以左右擺動身軀而行，為夜行性，但是白天也能活潑覓食，有時也會游到岩礁附近的
地理分布 :
分布於西北太平洋區，用日本南部海域至菲律賓等地。在臺灣見於南部、北部、東北部、東部、小琉球及澎湖等地海域。
